I have so many favorite builds in Hartley it is hard to pick just one! But if I had to pick l would say it is the feeling after a volunteer night of knowing what you did made the trails better for the next trail user.

I started going to trail building nights to meet people when I first moved to Duluth about 6 years ago. It worked as I have made some great friendships and continue to have a hand in building and maintaining my favorite trails!
What is your favorite feature (or trail) that you have been involved in building?
I've really loved turning Merritt Creek into a feature-rich gem of a trail. And anytime we get to peel back layers of sod to reveal a new rock slab it's so exciting! The step-up jump on Lollygagger and the entire Lumpy Divots zone are standout examples.

I became involved in COGGS shortly after moving to Duluth in 2007. I’ve been involved in trail development and creation throughout the city and region with a focus on building in progression and downhill to our local system.

Currently my favorite trail has been the NIMBY cluster.

I’ve been a steward at Piedmont for over ten years. I’ve been one of the few equipment operators for Coggs for five years.

My favorite area is the nimby sub cluster especially Dr Diablo due to it being one of the easiest and most advanced trails in Nimby at the same time
