Title: Secretary

Reports to: Board of Directors

Term: Up to 3 years

Description:

The Secretary maintains COGGS key documents including, but not limited to, the Strategic Plan and the Bylaws.  The Secretary updates documents to reflect the decisions of the Board and sends documents out for review/approvals.The Secretary works directly with the chair to develop the agenda with input from the Board.  Additionally, the Secretary attends meetings with the Executive Director and key stakeholders when possible for documentation.

Recurring Duties:

  1. Develops agenda for board and membership meetings with input from the board

  2. Prints agendas for distribution at meetings

  3. Records minutes from board and membership meetings

  4. Distributes meetings minutes to members via the GoogleDrive

  5. Maintains the GoogleDrive and management of accounts

  6. Schedules and confirms facilities for all meetings. 

  7. Creates Facebook Event for Monthly Meetings/Special Events as requested.

  8. Point of contact for the COGGS website email form.  Directs inquiries to the appropriate contacts within COGGS

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience volunteering for COGGS or another outdoor group

  2. Understanding of the City of Duluth’s parks system and management practices

  3. Good written and verbal communication skills

  4. Basic computer skills (competence with MS Office and Google Docs)

  5. A durable sense of humor and a healthy amount of patience
