Title: Marketing Director
Reports to: Board of Directors

Term: Up to three (3) years

Role Summary

The Marketing Director leads COGGS’ marketing and communications efforts, strengthening brand identity, increasing public awareness, and fostering a strong sense of community around Duluth’s trail network and COGGS’ mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a clear, consistent COGGS brand across all platforms

  • Increase awareness of COGGS programs, events, trail projects, fundraising efforts, and organizational successes

  • Communicate regularly with members, volunteers, partners, and the broader community

  • Build engagement and a sense of community among trail users and supporters

  • Promote club events and initiatives to drive participation and volunteer involvement

  • Identify and propose strategic partnerships within the community

  • Expand outreach to trail users and residents not currently involved with COGGS

Recurring Duties

  • Attend and participate in COGGS Board meetings

  • Collaborate with fellow Board members and committees to support organizational goals

  • Oversee updates to the COGGS website and digital communication channels

  • Ensure the monthly member newsletter is produced and distributed

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience volunteering with COGGS, including committee or trail work (preferred)

  • Experience with digital and traditional marketing

  • Familiarity with web and communication tools such as Squarespace, Google Workspace, and Neon One

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfort with public speaking and community engagement

  • Sense of humor, patience, and a collaborative mindset
