2019 Volunteer of the Year: Rudy O’Brien
Rudy is a longtime, critical COGGS volunteer, and has logged the most volunteer hours in a year at least a time or two. He is currently a volunteer mini-excavator specialist, and sculpts rock and dirt into sweet advanced features at Piedmont, Ely's Peak and other spots.
Volunteers at: Primarily at Piedmont and Brewer, but has done work on all COGGS trail systems.
Favorite place to ride: Piedmont! But Rudy traveled the country for a year riding all over.
Best Bike Adventure: Climbing the Barr trail in Colorado Springs to the top of Pikes Peak. Climbed 7,400 vertical feet in about 6 hours followed by a 1.5 hour steady downhill!
Thank you, Rudy, for your dedication to making the Duluth trail system what it is today. It truly would not be the same without you.
