COGGS is a non-profit cycling organization looking for members of its 4 person Trail Crew for the 2018 season. Crew members will participate in both new trail construction and maintenance of existing trails in Duluth, MN from May 1 through November 1 (weather dependent). Positions are seasonal with flexible start/end dates based on weather conditions, budget and donation levels.
Work will utilize light equipment (mini-excavators, mechanized loaders) and hand tools (shovels, pulaskis, rogue hoes, mcleods, etc) for new trail construction. Other work will include brush cutting, construction of board walk, armoring existing trails, compacting of new trails with plate compactors, hauling of materials with mechanized wheel barrow, cutting of trees with chainsaw, etc.
Work will be exclusively outdoors and will require significant physical labor, including carrying 50+ pounds on uneven terrain and walking up to 5 miles under load. A passion for trails is essential for anyone interested. $12-20/hr depending on past experience.
