COGGS board meeting

 

COGGS board meeting 2/9/10 - Thirsty Pagan, Superior, WI - Meeting summary minutes

 

Members present:

Adam Sundberg, Bill Schwalbe, Jim Schoberg, Margi Fraboni, Jeff Fraboni, Mike Miller, Andrea Grygo, Matthew Evingson, Hansi Johnson,

 

Meeting called to order by A Sundberg 7:07 pm

A Sundberg motion to approve January 12, 2010 minutes, second M Evingson, motion approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report

Checking balance $13, 346.80, savings balance $1699.97.  Paid $131.20 for trail materials at Lester.

 

Agenda

  1. Sponsorship.  Discussion of cash vs. in-kind donation for corporate sponsorship. 

Motion by A Sundberg, second M Evingson of $100 for corporate sponsorship or 2x for in-kind donation.  Motion approved.

 

  1. Minnesota series guide book.  COGGS responsible for $550 in advertising. LPBG, SMDC, SkiHut, and Mt duLac will contribute.

 

  1. Spring membership drive. Anonymous donor willing to match up to $1K!

Specialized Globe will be given away for 2010 memberships.  Ideas for drive:

email “mailing”, POS at trailhead (modify trail closed/open signs), update new membership forms for bike shops

 

  1. Dirt Spanker activities.  Discussion of a party Sat night before Dirt Spanker and  family ride night/day before the race.

 

  1. IMBA trail care crew.  Trail school last weekend of August (27-29).  3 day trail school, 2 days classroom, 1 day on trail (Fri/Sat/Sun), potentially at Hartley. Target audience is riders and trail (state, city, county land mgmt, landscape art., other trail user groups) Tail stewards should attend.  Evening event (ride, film festival).  Considered a 10K service by IMBA.  Potential costs $10 COGGS members, $5 or free for trail stewards.

 

A Sundberg motion to adjourn, second M Miller, approved at 7:46 pm.
