COGGS Board Meeting -1/12/2010 -Thirsty Pagan, Superior, WI Meeting summary minutes

Members present: Jim van Druten, Mike Miller, Bill Schwalbe, Matthew Evingson, Adam Sundberg, Andrea Grygo, Mick Dodds

Meeting called to order at 7:03 pm by Adam Sundberg

Treasurer’s Report

$10, 967.28 checking, $1,699,60 savings, $11.44 year-end dividend

$750.00 for 501-(c)(3) application

Motion to transfer 1K from checking to savings; Bill Schwalbe, Mick Dodds second

Secretaries Report

December general membership meeting held at Thirsty Pagan, election of new

Board members.

Agenda

  1. 501-(c)(3) status, IRS has application Check from William Hoeg for $2500 Add line on membership form for additional tax deductible donation Set up online membership payment with PayPal

  2. MNSCS racer guidebook, responsible for 2 pages of adds, COGGS gets ½ of any amount over $500, due late Feb

  3. Creation of accurate maps for each trail system GPS coordinates –Matt, Maps – Andrea, Print & laminate (UPS store)

  4. Trail Signs Increase awareness that trails are maintained by COGGS – “Like the Trail? Join COGGS”, Adam will check into prices for signs and revisit at next board meeting

  5. Creation of “You’re a COGGS Member, So Now What?” sheet that goes w/ membership form. Adam will draft.

  6. Solicitation of lumberyards for wood once officially 501-(c)(3) Organized effort to contact each lumber yard, form letter to contact state needs & what we’re doing -Matthew

  7. Order trail equipment: 30 Pulaksi, 30 McLeods, Matthew will order. Spray-paint tools yellow to signify COGGS

  8. COGGS hours, track 1) trail work, 2) race prep & volunteering, and 3) administrative.

  9. Trail school: IMBA Trail Care Crew – 3 day workshops, trail work; coming to Duluth this year. Tentative dates last weekend Aug, 2nd weekend Sept, 4th weekend Sept

  10. Sponsorship of COGGS. Currently $50 corporate sponsorship gets logo and link to business on website. There were 8000 unique visitors to COGGS.com last year. Adam Sundberg motion to change corporate membership to $100 for link and logo on website; Matthew Evingson second. Motion passed
