COGGS BOARD MEETING MINUTES - JANUARY 2003
Meeting called to order by Tim Case.
Secretary's Report: MMSC to approve minutes from December meeting.
Treasurer's Report: $4406.60
Membership Report: 81 Members
OLD BUSINESS:
Safety deposit box needs new Chairperson's signature. As the new Chairperson,
Gerry Olson will sign the necessary forms.
Gerry Olson will start to mark new trail at Mont du Lac on Sunday, January 19, 2003.
Billings Drive Frozen Five: Scheduled for March 22, 2003.
Attempts will be made to reschedule the IMBA Trail Care Crew visit around the
Powder Monkey race weekend.
NEW BUSINESS:
Kurt Lange will remain as the COGGS Webmaster.
Kurt Lange will remain as a MORC Representative.
Race Directors meeting to be held at Quality Bike Parts on January 18, 2003.
COGGS will offer web space for the promotion of Minnesota races.
"Kid Safe" Safety Fair to be held at Miller Hill Mall on February 17, 2003.
Volunteers needed; if interested contact Gerry Olson. Rod Raymond
mentioned that he would be willing to help out.
New shipment of tattoos: MMSC
Tuesday night rides to remain at Mont du Lac for 2003. Possibility of
adding a second club ride during the week at other locations was discussed.
Insurance issues?
Margy Fraboni to follow up on the possibilities of adopting a portion of Hartley Trail.
Budget Planning needed for 2003.
Race Director needed for Dirt Spanker race.
Membership Fees: may be changed for 2003.
Races:
CX Race - Past venue no longer available. Harry Anderson will volunteer to help if
the race continues. A race director will be needed. COGGS may need to change
bylaws to allow for compensation for race director duties.
Greenman Race/Music Festival - Rod Raymond's race. 12-hour race scheduled for
July 19, 2003 at Spirit Mountain. Course to be determined. Considerations need to be
made for the course due to Powder Monkey race the following weekend. Rod would like
COGGS to be involved with this race and possibly becoming affiliated with some of the
Adventure Duluth races. Rod will link race information to the COGGS website.
