About Us

COGGS was started in 1994 when the Superior Bikers and the North Star Bike Club combined. We are a 501-c3 nonprofit organization and our mission is the improve the cycling opportunities for the citizens of the Twin Ports for years to come. We strive towards this mission by the following:

1. Building and maintain off road cycling trails so that citizens and visitors can have access to high quality outdoor recreation.

2. Host education and social events so that members and guests can learn how to bike and become part of the local cycling community.

3. Work with our local land managers to make best use of the green space we have in our community so that citizens and visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature setting of the Twin Ports.

As of 2011 we are a chapter of IMBA, an organization that has helped us greatly to learn sustainable trail building techniques and trail advocacy to increase our access to trail development.

COGGS maintains over 30 miles of multi-use, singletrack trail in Duluth and has Tuesday Night Rides at Mont du Lac Recreation Area. Throughout the year we also have many group rides at other trails, social events, regularly scheduled trailwork days and opportunities to volunteer.
